Around 325 Riverside Drive: Silver Moon Bakery

A great privilege that will go to the future owner of my listing at 325 Riverside Drive is off-peak access to the Silver Moon Bakery, which regularly boasts lines out the door for their excellent sweets and baked goods.

Consistently rated among Manhattan's best, Silver Moon Bakery is located two blocks from Riverside Drive and mere feet from the 103rd Street 1-train station.

Quoting from their write-up in the New York Times:

Silver Moon Bakery, a small shop that opened in November at 2740 Broadway (105th Street), has enough variety to fill the baskets of fresh-bread-starved Upper West Siders. It is owned by Georgia Stamoulis and Judith Norell, a baker who has worked in Paris as well as in New York at Le Pain Quotidien. Besides crusty baguettes ($2), the shop offers long apricot-hazelnut Parisiennes (stuffed baguettes that can be broken into rolls, $3.75) and gutsy olive-rosemary loaves ($4.50). Other flavors abound, in white as well as wheat and rye flours. Silver Moon also makes cakes, tarts and cookies and has tables for savoring on the spot. — Marianne Rohrlich

We recently stopped by Silver Moon Bakery for some sweet treats. Their baked goods are legendary (the cupcakes included!) and the Tiramisu was to die for, see below:
